Thank you, veterans.

I'm just trying to be a father
Raise a daughter and a son
Be a lover to their mother
Everything to everyone
Up and at 'em, bright and early
I'm all business in my suit
Yeah, I'm dressed up for success
From my head down to my boots

I don't do it for the money
There's bills that I can't pay
I don't do it for the glory
I just do it anyway
Providing for our future's my responsibility
Yeah I'm real good under pressure
Being all that I can be

And I can't call in sick on Mondays
when the weekends been too strong
I just work straight through the holidays
And sometimes all night long
You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady, hey, I'm true down to the core
And I will always do my duty no matter what the price
I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice
Oh, and I don't want to die for you
but if dyin's asked of me
I'll bear that cross with honor
'cause freedom don't come free

I'm an American soldier, an American
beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand
When liberty's in jeopardy, I will always do what's right
I'm out here on the front line
Sleep in peace at night
American soldier, I'm an American soldier

Yeah, an American soldier, an American
Beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand
When liberty's in jeopardy I will always do what's right
I'm out here on the front line
So Sleep in peace tonight
American soldier, I'm an American
An American, an American soldier

Some say this country's just out looking for a fight...

After 9/11, man I'd have to say that's right
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And we vowed to get the ones behind Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

I'm through accepting limits, 'cuz someone says they're so...

Well, within the next two weeks at the most, I should be working at Care.

A good start.

Kid, the next time I say, "Let's go someplace like Bolivia," let's GO someplace like Bolivia.

I forgot I even had this thing. No one has commented though and said "John, we miss you, please come back, you give my life meaning" though, so I'm not particularly concerned.

So gas prices are outlandish. I'm sure everyone will blame it on Bush, but let's face it, oil prices have been rising for the last two decades. Add in the fact that the summer oil prices are always higher, and the hurricane knocked out our two largest oil importation ports (about 80% of our country's oil comes through those ports) and it's not hard to believe.

I was suppose to go to Badlands Monday to run pink, but none of us are willing to spend $100 in gas to go and play for the day.

Buddy of mine lives in New Orleans. He still has a house, but is in fear of the looting posses. Sit on the front porch with his AR, trying to dissuade people, or leave, and let insurance pick up the tab for everything that people walk away with.

He chose the former, go figure.

Wish I could go down to Mississippi to help out.

"Hi, I'm an EMT, Eagle Scout, have a Jeep, and am good with a chainsaw. Oh, I also helped in Florida last year after the hurricanes there. Need any help?"

Yeah, if gas wouldn't cost be two grand to get there and back, we'd talk.
